 EPHESUS - PATMOSISTANBUL (CONSTANTINOPLE)
AND THE GREEK ISLANDS OF MYCONOS, SANTORINI, CRETE, RHODES 

DAY 1 – WEDNESDAY: ATHENS ARRIVAL

Upon our arrival at Athens International Airport “Eleftherios Venizelos” our representative will meet us and assist in our transfer to hotel for dinner and overnight. (D)

DAY 2 – THURSDAY: CORINTH

Our morning’s excursion out of Athens takes us by the Saronic Gulf via the historic Corinthian Canal (quick stop for photos) to ancient Corinth (Acts 18:1-18). It was to this megalopolis where the apostle Paul came and worked, established a thriving church, subsequently sending two of his epistles now part of the New Testament.  Here, see all of the sites associated with his ministry: the Agora, the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Odeon, the Bema and Gallio’s Seat.  The small archaeological museum here is an absolute must! Return to Athens for dinner and overnight at hotel. (B-D)

DAY 3 - FRIDAY: PIRAEUS, GREECE                  

After breakfast we begin our morning tour of Athens (Acts 17:15), climb up to the marble-capped Acropolis and visit the famous Parthenon and the Erechtheion..  Then, we go to nearby Mars' Hill (or Areopagus) (Acts 17:22) where the Apostle Paul delivered his well-known sermon. Our tour continues with the highlights of modern Athens: we pass by the tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Parliament House, Presidential Palace, Panathenian Stadium, Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Academy, the University and the National Library. At 4:00 p.m. we are transferred to the port of Piraeus for the 7-day “Golden Fleece” Cruise to Greek Islands and Turkey. We set sail for Istanbul at 6:00p.m. (B-D)

DAY 4 - SATURDAY: DARDANELLES STRAITS – ISTANBUL, TURKEY

We will cross the Dardanelles Straits from 07:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and at 6:00 p.m. we arrive in Istanbul (Constantinople), one of the world's greatest historic cities. Formerly Byzantium, the center of the Eastern Roman Empire, this city is built on seven green hills and situated between two continents. East meets West in every way. Evening at leisure. Overnight on board in Istanbul (B-L-D)

DAY 5 - SUNDAY: ISTANBUL, TURKEY

Today we have an optional morning and afternoon city tour: we visit the Topkapi Palace with fabulous treasure chambers, the Sultan Ahmed (Blue) Mosque with its six minarets, and St. Sofia, (church of the sacred wisdom), converted to a mosque from a Christian basilica after the fall of Constantinople in 1453. We see the Hippodrome and the Obelisk brought from Egypt. Here you practice our bargaining abilities over ceramics, gold jewelry, leather wear or a fine Turkish carpet in the Grand (covered) Bazaar.  Return to the ship and afternoon sail to Mykonos, at 6 p.m. (B-L-D)

DAY 6 - MONDAY: MYKONOS, GREECE

At 3:00p.m. we arrive at Mykonos, the island which  combines an  international jet-set atmosphere with a very active nightlife. Stroll at leisure through the whitewashed, flower-decked alleyways, climbing to the sculpture church of Paraportiani or along the waterfront of «Little Venice» to the well-known windmills. Return to the ship for an evening sail to Patmos at midnight. (B-L-D)

DAY 7 – TUESDAY: PATMOS - KUSADASI

At 7:00 a.m. we arrive at the beautiful rocky island of Patmos, where the exiled Apostle John wrote the Book of Revelation. Here we have an optional tour: We drive up to the Monastery of the apostle John the Evangelist where we have a wonderful view of the island. We also visit the Grotto of the Revelation where the heavenly voice of God revealed to the apostle John the future of humanity (Rev. 1:12-21). After some free time for browsing, return to the ship and set sail for Kusadasi at 10:30 a.m. At 2:00 p.m. we arrive at Kusadasi, starting point for our optional excursion to the ancient city of Ephesus. The Apostle Paul preached to the Ephesians, lived and worked here for a number of years.  We tour the spectacular ruins. Excavations still continue in this once great and important city, which was founded in the 10th century BC. Walk through history along marble streets lined with wonderful public buildings, among them the Baths of Scholastica, the Library of Celsus, the Temple of Hadrian and the Theater. In this city, the marvelous Temple of Diana of the Ephesians was built, one of the Seven Wonders of the world! Then we return to Kusadasi for some shopping before sailing for Rhodes at 8:00p.m. (B-L-D)

DAY 8 – WEDNESDAY: RHODES

At 7:00 a.m. call at Rhodes. This stronghold was built by a Crusading Order, which originated from Palestine. Here, in classical times, the Colossus of Rhodes was one of the Seven Wonders of the World!  Our optional half-day excursion takes us to visit the Temple of Athena on the majestic rocky Acropolis of Lindos, with the blue Aegean Sea beneath it and the sophisticated, whitewashed artists' colony at its foot. A local tradition has it that the apostle Paul on his way to Rome stopped in the small harbor of this place (Acts 21:1). Stroll around the medieval-walled city, enjoy the cosmopolitan atmosphere and relax in one of the many elegant cafes in the marina. Sail for Heraklion Crete at 6:00 p.m. (B-L-D)

DAY 9 - THURSDAY: HERAKLION CRETESANTORINI, GREECE

At 7:00 a.m. we call at Heraklion Crete (Acts 27:7-13) where our optional excursion takes us from the lively bustling city to visit the Minoan Palace of Knossos, legendary home of the Minotaur (half bull and half man). Sail for Santorini at noon, where we arrive at 4:30 p.m. Disembarkation by tender boats. Take a mule or the cable car up to the white-washed town of Thera, perched high on the rim of the ancient volcano, the eruption of which (1,600 BC) literally buried a flourishing Bronze Age town which has now been excavated at Akrotiri. Sail for Piraeus at 9:00 p.m. (B-L-D)

DAY 10 - FRIDAY: PIRAEUS, GREECE

At 6:00 a.m. we arrive at Piraeus. We will disembark after breakfast and meet our representative who will assist in our transfer to the airport for our departure flight. (B)
